OFF: Recalled film and the exile of the Hungarian Vulcans

As index.hu reported Hungary had originally wanted to represent itself on the Venice Biennale with the animation films directed by NEMES Csaba which deal with last year's civil disorders during the 50th anniversary of the revolution in 1956. The main sponsor of the Hungarian delegation on the Venice Biennale, the Ministry of Education changed the decision of the jury in the last minute, probably because of the sensitive topic, and sent an other submitted work to the Italian exhibition. Parts of the film are ready though like the Combino Song above. Watch other parts of the film after the click.

If you check out the comments for this combino song on YouTube you will see only love it or hate it responses. This is how Hungarians deal with last year's and this year's riots, disorders, uprage, revolution...etc and by the way with politics in general. You cannot find an emotion-free approach about what happened only the heroes' or the uruk hai orks' approach. This is why this film is a "sensitive topic" and why two Hungary exist: the left and the right. With many tones of course (like radical - non radical) but basically these two poles can be separated. Fortunately there are more and more disillusioned people who maybe one day will form something less tub-thumper and emotion based platform which will be able to deal with events like this. And generally with Hungarian history.
