Campaign against Sziget Festival

The major of Újpest has sued the organisers of Sziget and demands the court to ban the concerts between 10pm and 6am on the Festival. As they say the Festival breaches the allowed limit of noise and the people in the neighborhood districts are forced to "suffer" this every year. The head of the organisers GERNDAI Károly admits that sometimes they breach these measures but this doesn't justify this restriction which endangers the existence of the Festival. He said this action of the Újpest district was a part of a campaign against Sziget. This isnt't their first law suit against them and the new noise regulation in the district draws up impossible measures. Poles show that only 7% of the locals think that the late night programs of the Festival disturb them.
